Reader supported, nobody else
Two ways to help
This site is free, has no ads, and takes no money from data center operators, utilities, industry groups or advocacy organizations on any side. If it has been useful, you can buy a shirt or chip in toward keeping it going. Both do the same job, and neither buys any say in what this site publishes.
The cloud is surprisingly rectangular.
Buying one keeps this site going. There are no ads and no sponsors, and no money is taken from anyone with a stake in the argument, so what readers put in is the whole budget.

Size
Every size is the same price. Sizes shown are the ones each shirt actually comes in.
Color and size come with you to checkout. No account, no cart.
Printed to order, so allow around two weeks. US shipping for now. One design to start with; if people want them, there are more waiting.
Where the money goes
Straight back into the site. The shirts exist to cover what it takes to keep this going, the hosting and the domain and the hours behind every page, not to make anybody money. Criterion B, the company this site's author runs, sells, prints and ships them. It pays the author a $6 royalty per shirt for the design and keeps what is left after costs. The disclosures page spells it out. That is a commercial relationship worth saying out loud on a site that asks who funds everybody else. It is not a data center operator, utility, industry group or advocacy organization, so the pledge is unchanged.
Or just chip in
Simpler, and more of it reaches the site: no shirt, no postage, no printing. If you want to help and do not want a shirt, this is the better option for both of us.
Any amount, one time, through Stripe. No account needed, and we never see your card details.
The honest fine print
- A shirt is a purchase, not a gift. Neither is tax deductible: this is not a nonprofit.
- It buys nothing, including influence, a mention, a link, or any say in what the site covers.
- If it arrives wrong or damaged, write to contact@datacenterdebate.org and it gets replaced. Misprints are our problem, not yours.
- Nothing here is behind any of it. Every page, the map, the data and the handbook stay free whether anyone buys anything or not.
Our funding is on the about page, our sources and who paid for each one are on the sources page, and every error we have found in our own work is on the corrections page.
